COVID-19

COVID-19 regulations during event

This event is only accessible with Covid Safe Ticket. Please make sure you can show one when you arrive. Wearing a mask will be mandatory except when seated to drink or eat. Hand sanitizer will be available and highly recommended. Please also remember to respect the social distancing rules which, in Belgium, is fixed at 1.5m.

In the sections below you will find a summary of the general measures in place concerning travel to Belgium, divided according to your point of departure. For more detailed measures we refer to the sources mentioned in the last section. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions about the travel regulations.

COVID-19 travel information

Note: the rules are subject to change, so we recommend that you keep track of the official websites listed under ‘sources’ below to have a complete overview about the most up-to-date measures in place. We wish you safe travels.

You are traveling from an EU/Schengen country:

  • If you are staying for the full duration of Belgian Jazz Meeting 2022, you are most-likely in Belgium for over 48 hours. This means you should fill out a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) per traveling person and have it ready should authorities require inspection.
    • Only if you are traveling by car and your stay does not exceed 48 hours, you do not need to fill out the PLF.
  • Check the map with color codes within the EU. If you come from an orange or green zone, no additional rules apply. If you come from a red zone, which is at the moment highly likely, additional quarantine and testing rules vary according to your vaccination or recovery status.
    • If you are fully vaccinated or have proof of recovery, no quarantine nor test is required.
    • If you are not fully vaccinated and have no proof of recovery, you’ll need either a negative PCR test or a negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken before departure. A negative PCR result is valid for 72 hours, a negative RAT result is valid for 36 hours. Any valid negative test before your travel means you do not have to quarantine.

You are traveling from a non-EU/Schengen country:

If the country of departure is listed as a red zone on the map (which is the case for most), then rules differ according to whether the country is whitelisted or not and your vaccination/recovery certificate:

  • For whitelisted countries, the same rules apply as for EU/Schengen countries.
  • For non-whitelisted countries, a test on day one of your arrival in Belgium is required, and you are expected to remain in quarantine until the result of the test. A negative result alleviates the duty to quarantine. A second test on day 7 of your stay (should you stay for that duration) is also required.
    • If you have a vaccination or recovery certificate, then the procedure above is sufficient.
    • In the case you do not have a vaccination or recovery certificate ready, and your country is a non-whitelisted red zone outside of the EU/Schengen, you’ll have to be able to present a valid professional card for cultural activities, applied for in the country of departure. Please refer to the procedure of your country of residence.
